Here we are, our last blog as just "us", Paul and Linda. As we are preparing for the biggest journey ever we are filled with so many different emotions. We can't believe we are finally at this moment. It's surreal and that is the only word to explain it. We have been spending our entire morning weighing our suitcases as you can only bring 44lbs each. Two weeks of travel between two people in one bag =44lbs....we removed pretty much everything except undies and a toothbrush which are really all you ever need in life-ha.
We are hoping to be able to update this blog which shouldn't be a problem. Our new friends who are in Changsha now getting their beautiful boy have been able to update their blog which of course I have been glued to so be sure to keep checking back for updates. Gotcha day is Monday the 22nd, not sure what time we'll meet our little sunshine but please keep all three of us in your thoughts and prayers as you have been all along. The support and love we have received along the way has been unbelievable. My BFF threw me a little shower at work last week which was beyond unbelievable. People who I never knew had it in them suddenly became very generous. Paul's friends also put together a very generous gift too. All very touching.
I end this post with a quote from one of my favorite Elton John Songs and I'm sending it out to Colleen Giofredda, for without her, none of this would be happening. Colleen is by far the most amazing person I know. She volunteers countless hours to LPA's adoption and has matched so many wonderful children with their forever family. The world needs more Colleen's in it.
"I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world"
Have a SAFE and WONDERFUL journey Linda and Paul! Will be keeping you both and Sha-Sha in our thoughts and prayers...
