We're Cabled
We received an email yesterday morning from the NVC saying we are cabled and then got confirmation from CAWLI saying everything will go to China today. This is a huge step again. We now wait for our Article 5 to be picked up at the Chinese Consulate which typically takes about 2 weeks. Then after that we wait for our TA (Travel Approval) which is about 1 week after Article 5. We are hoping to have our sunshine home by Thanksgiving which would be amazing. We are almost done with her room. We found a low bed and have her bed and end tables setup. We are going to use Paul's dresser that his dad made special for him when he was young so that will be neat to give her. Below is a picture of her bed, we still need a few more things but just having her bed set up has really validated that she will be home any day now.

what a great room! how fun! I think Sha-Sha looks like a little fashionista, so you are going to have so much fun together! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the bed! Where did you find a low bed? We are beginning our search for bedroom furniture. It's so exciting to hear you are getting so close to bringing Sha-Sha home!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I am so happy all the paperwork is moving along so quickly!

Beautiful room! Sounds like October travel could be a real possibility for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone, we got the bed set at IKEA and the comforter at Bed, bath and beyond. Luckily she likes pink.:)
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Amazing and overwhelming for us. It is a magical time for all of us and I'm sure that you will find that having this little beauty as your daughter will give you the rewards of life as it did to me with Paul and his brother Colin.
ReplyDeleteI got a bit choked up when you said that you were going to use the dresser for her, that I had built for Paul, some thirty years ago. I remember those winter evenings working on that, hoping that it would be of some help to him, never even imagining that it would eventually be used by our granddaughter - fantastic!
Love you both and looking forward to meeting this lovely little girl.
